Monte Zott Basketball Tournament 2015
HKK Brotnjo also organised a two-day basketball tournament this year called “Monte Zott New Year Basketball Tournament, Brotnjo 2015” where the general sponsors were Monte Zott and Herceg Etno selo.
The tournament was held 7-8 January 2015 at the City Sports Hall in Čitluk. This tournament was organised as a competition in two categories of cadets and juniors. In the cadet competition, the following clubs took part: HKK Brotnjo, HKK Široki, HKK Zrinjski and KK Cedevita, while in the junior category the following clubs competed: HKK Brotnjo, HKK Široki, HKK Zrinjski and GKK Šibenik.
After the first day of the tournament, HKK Široki and KK Cedevita won the finals in the cadet category, while HKK Široki and GKK Šibenik competed for the winning title in the junior finals. After a successful first day of the tournament and placement in the finals in both categories, HKK Široki‘s young basketball players continued their winning streak and won first place in both categories. The HKK Široki cadets beat their colleagues from KK Cedevita with a score of 99:59, while juniors of HKK Široki celebrated with a score of 90:80 over GKK Šibenik.
In the third-place matches, the winners were HKK Zrinjski‘s young basketball players in both categories over local young hopes from HKK Brotnjo.
This tournament aims to promote basketball as a sport in the municipality of Čitluk and in Herzegovina with the intention of further encouraging young people to live a healthy life and engage in sports. Monte Zott and Herceg Etno selo as general sponsors are proud to have supported such a competition, which showed attractive moves of promising and talented young men who are certainly at the beginning of their successful sports careers.
